THE WHEELBARROW

As you may have heard - over the last few months, we have been working on a project to launch our Sister site The Wheelbarrow. We recently signed a 5 year lease with Greenbank Sports Academy to run their food and beverage offering at the Sports Centre and we are thrilled to be on board. The site is a cafΓ©/bar during the day and evening, which supports the many events that run from the Sports Centre, along with being open to the public and available for private hire. We will also be supporting Students from the college with work experience and traineeships which will be aligned to catering, barista skills and event management. We will initially serve a small breakfast and lunch menu for dine in and takeaway - which will change regularly whilst we settle into the new venture. If you have any enquiries - please drop us a line at: thewheelbarrowL17@gmail.com. Or, pop your head in whilst your passing and say hello! The Wheelbarrow, Greenbank Sports Centre, Greenbank Lane, L17 1AG

On 10 March 2022, we attended the Liverpool Tourism Awards 2021 with our team after being nominated as one of Liverpool's Hidden Gems by the public. It was an amazing evening at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral - everyone was so excited and it was such an honour to be in the room with Liverpool's best leisure venues.

We were absolutely thrilled to win the category, especially being up against such strong competition.

Thank you to everyone who voted for us... we are still on cloud 9.

Come and share in the love at The Watering Can... We are running a special Valentine's Menu from 8 through to 14 February.

The specials menu has some lovely small dishes - juicy rump steak and tempura prawn in a champagne sauce, or, a sumptuous cherry chocolate pot! You can take a look at the menu here...

Come and visit us and listen to some 80s love power ballads, enjoy a special cocktail, and, if you're lucky you might get a smooch from Frank :)

SUNDAY ROASTS

Sunday roasts - just as good as your Ma's!

Last Autumn and Winter, we tried something different at The Watering Can and launched a 2 course Sunday dining experience, and well, it went down a storm.

So, they are of course coming back by popular demand!

We launch on 31 October - you will be able to book tables from 1:00pm. Menu will be posted very soon.

Davinia Taylor - The Sunday Times Number One Best Seller

On 8 October, Astrea Linskills and Carolyn Hughes PR presented a wellness afternoon with an intimate audience at the Watering Can.

Guest speaker Davinia Taylor came along to talk about her Sunday Times Number 1 Best selling book 'It's not a Diet'.

It was such an honour to have such wonderful guests at the event, and to listen to Davinia's inspirational story.

You can buy a copy of the book at Waterstones - click here.

Thanks for all of your support over the last few weeks with regards to our planning application. We have been overwhelmed and inundated with messages of support and well wishes. The public consultation has now ended.

The planning department will review the planning application, take in to account the views from other council departments (e.g. parks and gardens, highways, conservation etc.), along with comments from the public and put together a recommendation.

In the meantime, please feel free to email us at info@thewateringcanliverpool.com with any questions or concerns. The plans can still be found on the Liverpool City Council’s planning portal here.
